Translators note:

Father Kai appears in another "record of the spirit" from the Lands of the Sweet Waters, set a generation later. This has recently been published as the novel-length tale, A Sister of Sword and Seal.

As to Squire Chloe, that same record explains her fate, and why the demon did not want to leave her.

Two more short tales from the lands have now been published.

Another Side of Destiny is set a few years later than Squire Chloe's Demon, and concerns the people of the city, not the Temple.

Clay for Ellen again concerns the people of the city. The events of that short, short tale take place at the same time as those of A Sister of Sword and Seal.
